Buccaneers Coach Bruce Arians Yelled At QB Tom Brady

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers haven’t made the playoffs since 2007. In fact, they haven’t won a playoff game since winning the Super Bowl in January 2003.

Well, Tom Brady wants to change that – and his impact is already being felt in the locker room.

“It’s totally different,” Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians said on Tiki & Tierney. “When you bring a guy in that might be the best to ever play the game, he talks, you listen. You got to be an idiot not to listen to the guy. He’s such a great guy in the locker room, especially with young players, helping them, coaching them on and off the field. So yeah, it’s changed a lot of things. We started and built a really good culture. Our guys come to work every single day and work hard. I think Tom’s brought that up a notch, and we’re working smarter.”

Brady, it is worth noting, isn’t walking around like he owns the place, either. Arians has made sure of that.

“Oh yeah, he’s got cussed out,” Arians said.

The six-time Super Bowl champion took the tongue-lashing in stride.

“He just laughs,” Arians said. “We don’t throw balls in walk-throughs. It was something silly, but he had to get his ass chewed out just like everybody else. So he’s one of the guys.”

Arians, who went 7-9 in his first season in Tampa Bay, is confident that Brady, 43, will be able to take full advantage of the plethora of weapons at his disposal.

“Oh, totally. Totally,” Arians said. “I don’t think he’s had anybody since Randy Moss that he could throw it downfield to like our guys. Mike Evans is special. Every day Tom looks at me and he goes, ‘Wow, is this guy good.’ They’re having a great camp together. Chris [Godwin] looks fantastic. When you put guys to the outside and you can throw the ball outside, it opens up the inside tremendously for everybody else.”
