Carlos Dunlap only spent a few months with Joe Burrow this season, but he came away highly impressed with the young quarterback.

“I believe Joe Burrow is definitely going to be the future of the NFL,” Dunlap said on The Zach Gelb Show. “He has a lot of potential, he has a lot of heart, he cares, he’s very passionate about what he does and getting better at what he does. That right there is something that the Bengals saw and I think the world got to see in him in the games he was able to play in. It just sucks that he got hurt the way that he did.”

Burrow, the No. 1 pick in the 2020 NFL Draft, tore multiple ligaments in his knee in a game against Washington in November.

“I believe that he has more than enough ability and mental toughness to [get back to where he was],” Dunlap said. “Everybody who’s seen and came in contact with him says the same thing. I can’t wait to see him getting back. I’m still a Bengals fan until I play them, and I support my guys on the team, but go Hawks.”

Dunlap, 31, was a second-round pick in 2010 and spent the first decade of his career in Cincinnati. He was traded to Seattle in October.

“This is my team now, and I want what’s best for us,” Dunlap said of the Seahawks. “I’m looking forward to hopefully coming back with Seattle next year.”
